In July 2022, it was announced that Cedar Valley Medical Specialists and the University of Northern Iowa Athletic programs would enter an agreement to build a long-standing collaboration between UNI and CVMS, focused on student athlete health and wellness. While CVMS has been providing the most innovative and highest quality of care to UNI’s student athletes long before the agreement, the agreement named CVMS the “Official Sports Medicine Partner of UNI Athletics.
Since then, Dr. Jeffry Clark has been the medical director and head team physician, overseeing the athletic training program and assisting the team of physicians at UNI. Not only that, CVMS has provided UNI’s College of Education Program with full-time athletic trainers to teach and assist at the school.
